The McKean County Collaborative Board
Goals
Healthy Development During Childhood
All children will be healthy and start school ready to learn. The
Collaborative Board will accomplish this by:
- Increasing the early identification of developmental problems.
- Increasing the rate of on-time immunizations.
- Increasing the amount of children adequately covered by health
insurance.
- Increasing access to dental care.
Stable Families
Families will provide a stable, supportive environment for their
children. The Collaborative Board will accomplish do this by:
- Increasing bonding and nurturing practices in families.
- Decreasing child abuse.
Healthy Youth Development
Children and youth are involved in healthy behaviors and do not engage
in high-risk behaviors. The Collaborative Board will accomplish this by:
- Increasing the amount of community service hours youth contribute
in their community.
- Decreasing youth substance abuse.
Community Collaboration
The McKean County Collaborative Board will work together to improve the
lives of its children and families. The Collaborative Board will
accomplish this by:
- Encouraging strong community leadership.
- Communicating the goals of the board to the larger community and
ensuring public support for these goals.
- Increasing financing and resource development strategies in McKean
County.
- Providing development and training opportunities for citizens and
professionals.
- Promoting effective strategies that are outcome and research-based.
